We all too often neglect one of the most important criteria for fitness and vitality. Contrary to what some modern commentaters might believe, without adequate sleep, everything deteriorates. Lack of sufficient sleep is implicated in a myriad of illnesses ranging from cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline and emotional disorders to numerous other physical ailments which effect our performance on the pitch and in daily life. So, what should we do about it? We look to two of the leading experts in this field, professor of neuroscience and psychology, Matthew Walker, and neurologist, Dr. Stasha Gominak.
